Proposal | Sapphire Point Overlook Trail | Winter
Colorado Mountain Proposal after 9 Years TogetherProposal Details:
The trip to Colorado started with a flight being rerouted 10 minutes before landing in Denver. For Jaime and Brisaidy this threw a slight curve ball into their plans. The upside is that they got to sleep in Love Field. Okay – well in the concourse. Dallas was hot enough in the summer so perhaps they actually could sleep out on the field at Love field. We digress . . . .
So maybe sleeping in an airport was not a big upside but in the end it will make a good story. One thing they did get as an added bonus was a sunny day in the mountains. The day they were originally scheduled for with us was good but not great. The Summit County area had gotten 17 to 19 inches of snow they night they were coming into Denver. Denver got an 8 inch dusting of snow. Needless to say there was a lot of snow so before they got there we had strapped on the 36″ snow shoes to try to pack down some snow and widen the trail.
There was a group of 5 – Brisaidy and the boys. They got down to the Overlook at Sapphire Point in the afternoon. A couple other groups got the heads up from us of what was about to happen and they were further down trail stopping to watch. They all took some photos, saw a GoPro get setup for video, and the others step back for the proposing going down. Emotion flowed the moment he held her hand and began to tell her how he felt. 9 Years of waiting was like a good champagne you just shook up.
As he reached into his pocket she had the look of knowing exactly what was about to happen. When he his his knee and something came out of the pocket she had the ultra emotional stumble back then come back forward. She then fell down before him on her knees. She was able to pull herself back up and kiss him. 10 people on the trail shouted out around this point. When he pointed out the hidden photographer the look was the classic ‘I did not see him’ kind of look. After the proposal she could barely stand and per her assessment she needed to redo her makeup. We took some photos in the area on the snowshoed out spots along the way.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at the Sapphire Point Overlook.
