Propose On Vacation in BreckenridgeProposal Details:
We planned the engagement proposal photography session for Matt and Leah. They were on vacation from DC in town for a Breckenridge ski trip and Matt was planning to ask her to marry him on the trip. The proposal was an idea we worked to pull together for them to allow them to enjoy the day and get it captured well from a photography perspective. They did the hidden photographer proposal option with engagement photos after the proposal. You can read more about how we planned their engagement at the prior link. This includes how we mapped things out for Matt and planned for them to go.
The engagement was an emotional one with joy and tears. They started at the Starbucks off of main street. We went to the nearby Ice Castles just as they opened. There was certainly people all around even at 2PM but people move frequently. We loved shooting in them and recommend doing it right when they open on a weekday unless you have deep pockets for a private hour or two block of time. In the evening we recommend running by there after dinner to see it under the evening with the lights in the ice. One thing to note is that as cool as the Ice Castles are there is also a ton of beauty in Breck outside of just an ice castle.
Proposal Engagement Notes:
We love shooting live proposals. It’s not an easy task trying to capture “the moment” plus not being seen. However, it’s totally worth it when you get those priceless emotions that follow an engagement. Our time with Leah and Matt was so much fun. Despite the cold weather we had a blast getting some great shots after the engagement. For those couples on vacation this is a great way to document the day and have irreplaceable memories in photo. The Ice Castles are crazy beautiful but they haven’t been able to get a location in Colorado for the past couple years. You can check their site to see when and where they might come back to the Colorado Mountains.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done in Breckenridge.
