Proposal | Maroon Bells | Aspen Fall
Maroon Bells Proposal at SunsetProposal Details:
We love an emotional surprise proposal. For Alberto and Esmeralda it happened outside Aspen Colorado. They had gotten into Denver for a weekend trip earlier that day. Seeing the Maroon Bells had been on the wish list for some time. We are thinking things were a surprise because overall he was being himself (not acting weird) and she was thinking maybe in the Spring when she is done with school. There was an attempt to motivate less of a Lululemon attire and more of a casual dressy look.
The key is to have something later that will require a certain clothing but nonetheless some ideas might be veto’d so you have to go with it. When they got out there the sun was rather low and bright. After taking a selfie and waiting for some people to pass he dropped to one knee and pulled out a custom made wooden box with ‘Will You’ and inside ‘Marry Me’. Tears came and happiness erupted. Afterward we took some photos by the lake and in the middle of the lake on some rocks.
A couple considerations for the location to keep in mind. Due to popularity certain times of year people are required to ride the bus in to the Maroon Bells. Early October the leaves peak in color but there is also more people around because of it. The location is most ideal for sunset as the sun will set behind the mountains about an hour before the official sunset. The downside to sunset is that if the angles are off you will get more blotchy lighting particularly for the proposal.
We have more of these considerations and thoughts in a blog on choosing the right proposal location. The basic idea is that we can make it happen but you need to be flexible and keep expectations in check. The location is highly photographed and the photos from the best conditions are what you see more often online. You can get Aspen proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like this location and are considering using it here are some other shoots we have done at the Maroon Bells.
