Proposal | Brainard Lake | October
Surprise Proposal With All Your FriendsProposal Details:
Give us the mountains and a playful couple and we are happy! Ripal and Sejal were definitely the carefree couple. The upside is that you have a really fun birthday celebration weekend. The downside is mainly for us in that brunch went long for them. In once sense the girl not seeing the proposal coming and just enjoying the day rather than being rushed is a good thing. The more people you are around the slower things will go and the harder it will be to control the schedule.
There were a couple locations picked out along the way in finding the ideal location for them. We find this communicates that the guy is really wanting to get the perfect spot. Brainard Lake was the choice place for them at the end of the day. It was post gate closure so that requires a 2.3 mile walk in down the road. The reason for the gate closure is for snow and ice making the travel not ideal. The plan was to have friends in waiting at the location. We first saw people show up at the end of the scheduled shoot time. Ripal and Sejal didn’t make it in till 20 minutes after the scheduled time and came in with 4 friends.
There was some skipping of rocks, selfie photos, wind, fixing of hair, and even asking a random photographer out there (us) to take a photo for them. While we love to be hidden when you start going off to some other spots we have to adjust and get out in the open. Its not that big of a deal but our take is that we think it better to be seen than for you to miss the spot and randomly pop down on one knee and us miss it. Ripal got it perfect – the only issue with the angle was the wind blowing her hair around. There were tears and even better the fall to her knees to kiss him as he knelt down on one knee. At that point the 15 friends came out of hiding and jumped them with hugs and congrats. There was a champagne bottle opening that went all over followed by some photos afterward.
You can get hiking proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page.If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Brainard Lake. One note on being late is that after the scheduled shoot time ends we are no longer under obligation to stay around. This is particularly impacting if we need to get to the next shoot. In that case we would have left so if there is something unique you are doing we recommend you bring it up on the front end since it may have unforeseen impacts or risks.
