Wedding Ceremony at Broncos StadiumWedding Details:

The wedding was somewhere between what you would call an elopement and wedding – we will call it a mini-wedding.  Bucky and Whitney brought us in for a small piece of the day.  We love that they took a non-traditional approach and made the wedding day their own and incorporated things that were meaningful to them.  As you might guess the colors were Orange and Blue.  Not sure if they strictly aligned to the official colors as illustrated with the words in color but you could see there was certainly a consistency.  The sand they poured together might have been the official orange but I don’t think the blue was exact.  We saw more than just the bride decked out in some Broncos shoes.  Speaking of her shoes – hello custom awesome Broncos 10 4 inch heels!  They were one of a kind for sure and rather amazing.  As for some other unique things worn there was a garter on the groom’s arm.

The ceremony was outside the stadium over between Lots B and C where there are the horse statues.  They had a simple setup that took a bit longer than expected due to not officially having a coordinator.  Kudos to the officiant who was doing a little bit more than officiating the ceremony.  There was no music but there was the sound of some cyclists passing behind the ceremony and the clicks the cameras and chatters of people looking on from a distance.

Overall the ceremony was kept short and sweet.  We then went in the Stadium for a ‘Stadium Tour’.  So the intention wasn’t really to get a tour but a tour is what they paid for so comically that is what they were getting.  There were a couple points of just wanting things to move on and the body language was shouting it but yet the guide wasn’t getting it till after we got out on the field.  It made things a little more tight in terms of timing and more get a few and move on for us as a photographer but it was nonetheless fun.  If you expect to be able to go on the field know that you cannot walk on the grass.  You may kiss the turf but not step on it.

To do the ceremony on the field it would be an additional 2-5k and you wouldn’t actually be touching the turf.  Images on the website might be deceiving or perhaps the policies changed but it seems the guidelines are very strict.  Either way we would love to get you out on there and they likely show those images because they look the best.  The tour continued up to the club level where we got some more photos by the fireplace.  Overall, I think at this point people seemed to be wishing the bar was open and some beers could be poured but that was likely going to come soon at the reception.
