Mountain Proposal in BoulderProposal Details:

Sometimes you have to have a low to feel how high you have gone.  For Krista and Luke the low came that morning over breakfast when the topic of the ring came up.  Well – it was more a low for her to hear that they could go ring shopping on the trip to Denver.  While she thought anything could happen hearing that made her a little angry.  Thankfully, this was breakfast and not on the drive up Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder.  A bit of advice on highs and lows to guys.  We recommend if your going to upset her to do it a different day or at least far away from the proposal like he did.  Doing it right before the proposal may throw her into a state of confusion on if she is to be happy or angry at you still.  Think of this from his shoes though if at breakfast he said “I have the ring in my backpack” or if he took the middle ground approach “I got a ring back home”.  While she might not be too upset but she might have wanted a little more surprise.  I guess the moral of the story is if you ask a direct when question about the ring is know the guy will have trouble answering without spoiling the surprise or showing he doesn’t have a plan.

As you might guess however Luke had a plan – for quite a while.  We were brought in 10 weeks before the proposal to take some photos hidden away in the Colorado Mountains.  If anyone wants to poke jest at them with happenings in their life know that this was the plan in motion before anything changed.  You could see that certainty and love shared between them on the proposal.  There is also a playfulness and carefree attitude.

On the way up to the proposal location from Boulder they stopped at numerous spots along the way.  They were going to take some photos up on the mountain so they had a backpack with a camera and a tripod on the back of it.  We passed them mid way up and saw her following him to play on some red boulders.  He likely played on them a little too much as it did come off a little odd to her.  Upon getting to the proposal spot he got her in place and then instead of pulling out a camera he got out a ring box.  Many tears were wiped away.  She did not expect it at all.  She did not see the hidden photographer tucked away.  Dare we say she was lost in the moment trying to regain her composure and not have her mascara run.  After that we followed up with some photos out on the mountain for which the sun came out.  They cracked open a bottle of champagne, laughed, and were elated with joy!
