Mountain Lake Engagement Session at SunsetEngagement Session Details:
This engagement session photo shoot is a good example of why we love taking photos at Brainard Lake. When George and Judy saw a couple example shoots at the location they were sold. While we have had some wind in the past up there it was calm as is realistically could be for a mountain location. It was the first day it was open for the year. While it was open there still were a lot of parts closed off like the campground, the road to the hiking trails – basically the places were most people go. This made it seem more busy than normal but in reality there were few people there.
Snow had been melting but there was still quite a bit left on the mountains in the background. The water at the recreation area lake was high and seemed like it had some good fishing there as many people were out for the sport of it. We started up in this open field for photos in the dress. After a change of clothes we went down closer to the lake. Actually, we got out in the Lake through hopping some rocks. The ones at this point have been some of our favorite ones out on the water with the reflection of the clouds.
The other side of the lake that is normally more open was a little flooded over by higher water so we didn’t have as many options there. Probably the only things about the day that didn’t make it perfect were the high level haze which made the more distant mountains fade into the background more and the bugs which found us particularly yummy. If anything it was something to laugh about as he nibbles on one ear and a bug on the other.
If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Brainard Lake.
