Romantic Proposal Idea – Celebrate the RelationshipEngagement Proposal Details:

The idea behind making a proposal romantic is to let it be about what you both love, keeping it spontaneous seeming, then letting it build in emotion.  For Max and Lauren they were visiting Colorado and in the Boulder area.  They love picnics so of course on a 70 and sunny day you should go picnic.  They made it up Flagstaff Mountain to the Lost Gulch Overlook  shortly after 5:30.  They took the scenic route from the car which had them pass by a lot of camera equipment and a large box.

It is rare that the hidden photographer will give a friendly ‘hey’ to the couple.  Thankfully Lauren was not inquisitive about the contents of the box which had “Huddleston” on the shipping label.  They went out further on the rocks to have a picnic on the overlook.  At this point the box of goodies which included 26 frames of various sizes, 5 of which were story points of their relationship culminating in ‘And then we Were ?’ with a picture of a bride and groom.  There were wooden letters for their initials, a little shoe in a little jar, and a long strand of flowers with string lights.

The behind the scenes perspective was that Max had gathered up all the photos, numbered them, did a demo display for us, mailed them, and we would set it up for the proposal.  Once they passed the rock area pictures began to come out.  When 6:00 hit we were supposed to get things started but ideally things were delayed due to Lauren getting some photos (on her phone) which allowed the family to get up there.

It was around 6:15 and there were family members hiding in the bushes.  Some people coming up would stop and look.  One person shouted out – ‘Oh are you proposing?’.  Another thought it was a memorial likely to the couple who tried to get an amazing selfie and fell off the cliff.

They came around the corner and Lauren seemed a little perplexed for just a moment.  To put yourself in her shoes fly to another state and start walking through the woods only to find 21 photos of you and your boyfriend.  From this point the emotion took a dramatic turn upward with elated excited questions about how he did this, when he did this and who did this.

Max reached for the ring but then waited a moment and when he started to talk to her – cue the tears.  In what was just so beautiful he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.  Shouts of joy could be heard all over – enter the family.  At this point of being completely overwhelmed with surprise, completely enthralled with joy, your see your sister and dad among other family members  enter the scene.  I guess you could say this is over overwhelmed with joy?  At this point many photos were taken, a huge bottle of champagne was opened, and the celebration of the proposal began!
