A Lesson on How to ProposeProposal Details:

When some of the first things out of her mouth are “We are getting married” and “I get to marry my best friend” you can tell there is a different level of depth in the relationship.  Chase and Amy have a fun loving playful side to them.  It the kind of beauty in the moment of proposal that makes you as a photographer want to tear up.  We see a lot of proposals but there is something different with some couples.

As amazing as the experience is being asked to marry your love, the ring, the wedding planning the focus stays on the relationship.  You can see it in the comment on how they are going to be staying up all night talking about their future lives together like they used to stay up all night talking in the past.  Parents will certainly love to hear that in the initial reaction comments outside of the traveling together there was a comment on “We are going to have kids together.”

The proposal happened while on vacation in Colorado.  They had gone to the Alpenglow Stube for brunch at Keystone Resort.  For those who are not as visual imagine driving to a ski resort and taking a Gondola to the top of a mountain.  From there walk through the snow dodging skiers and snowboarders to another Gondola.  The second one will take you across some mountains and valleys to another drop off point.

The Alpenglow Stube is a ritzy slopeside restaurant.  It is the kind of place where there are mints and grooming accessories in the mens restroom.  While they had never talked about getting married, Amy thought if its not going to happen then its not going to happen on this trip.  Little did she know that brunch was the appetizer.  On the way back going over Swan Mountain Road they stopped at Sapphire Point Overlook.

Chase was able to convince Amy to leave the camera in the car.  She never saw the hidden photographer lurking in the distance with telephoto lenses.  As for the ring – it is a one of a kind rose gold diamond ring.  Chase was able to get the perfect ring through her going and picking it out with a friend.  Sizing sounded even more creative with some kind of ring in a purse that was put on to test the size.  That ring supposedly ‘went missing’ or something.

Tears continued for some time after the proposal.  A snowball fight occurred in the snow.  A drone flew overhead.  Dogs greeted us.  All the people hiking the trail were giving congrats to them.  Enough writing – enjoy the photos below!
