‘Did you get a ring yet?’  The text from one of Melissa’s friends went along something like that on their way into the Colorado Mountains.  For Ryan this made him think someone found out.  A lot of people knew but this friend just suspected it could happen.  Really when your relationship gets to a certain point and she is ready the guy is normally a few steps behind.  Perhaps it is because it takes some time to save up for the ring, measure her finger while she sleeps, figure out what kind of ring she likes, and figure out how your going to pop the question.

We love proposals and capturing it with photography!  In this case transportation was a limitation to getting out and about.  If your skiing out and about downtown Breck for a couple days a car isn’t required.  They got a shuttle to the hotel, freshened up, then took another shuttle to downtown Breck.  It conveniently dropped them off at the Blue River Plaza which is central to main street.  The plan was to use a scenic spot on a bridge in the square.  As it was a ‘pre-holiday’ around the holidays things were fairly active in the area.  You could tell as Ryan began to talk to Melissa that she was getting lost in the moment.  When she realized what was happening she lit up with excitement!  You can read Melissa’s take on the proposal on HowHeAsked.
